Welcome to the University of Western Australia Karate Club Website!

We are a well-established organization since the 1970s and have been a popular club within the UWA sports and recreation martial arts community.

The UWA Karate Club operates under the Japan Karate-Do Shobukan Association founded by Shihan (Master) Kyoshin Kayo, an 8th Dan in the Shito-ryu Karate, in 1960. This respectable affiliation has given us a reputable name within the Western Australia Karate community.

Now at the age of 73, Shihan Kayo still actively teaches and promotes karate in both, Japan and Perth.
