Training

Karate training focuses on mental and physical development. It teaches discipline and respect not only in the dojo setting, but in all aspects of our lives. Karate also teaches practical and efficient ways of self-defense.

Students training with Shihan Kayo

Our training focuses heavily on the basics and foundations that are common to all styles of Karate and most martial arts. Shihan Kayo runs his sessions in a very traditional structure of which has not changed since the Shobukan Association was established in Japan over 40 years ago. Students of the club can experience the classical regimes of training which were practiced traditionally in Japan.

Our training regime involves practicing katas, kumite and various sets of fitness training. Advanced student are also taught weaponry which include the Bo and Sai.

On top of our regular training sessions, each year we run two training camps. Each camp runs for 3 days over a weekend, allowing students to take a break from their usual routine and focus on Karate training as well as an opportunity to relax, socialise and simply have fun.

We gladly welcome you to come train with us at any of our training sessions, regardless of your experience in Karate.

Beginners are offered 2 weeks FREE TRIAL.
